Meet our Senior Project Manager, Nicki Robertson, who discusses her responsibilities within Core29, what she enjoys most about her job and the importance of taking time to focus on self-development and wellbeing.
What does your role involve?
My role as Senior Project Manager is functionally aligned to programme delivery and includes involvement in consultancy, diligence and strategy work. I am responsible for leading and delivering solutions to help transform businesses by applying forward thinking technology.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy all elements of my role including requirements capturing, delivery planning and issue and risk management. However, the thing I enjoy most is building trust and strong lasting working relationships with customers.
Do you have any particular areas of specialism?
I would say my areas of specialism lie in operations, software implementation and service delivery. Having worked in a variety of different industries and roles, I have a substantial framework toolkit that can be used to deliver based on the project approach needed – one size does not fit all!
What advice would you give to someone who is considering a similar role?
“Expect the best, plan for the worst and prepare to be surprised.” Denis Waitley
If you enjoy working with people, problem solving, are organised, curious, and enjoy learning then this is a demanding but great and rewarding career path.
What is something you are passionate about?
I’m passionate about self-development, wellbeing and self-care. There are times to be full on and times to just be still. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life we often forget how important it is to switch off and reconnect with ourselves. Nobody can be their best, and live their best life, when they are always running on empty!
