The Challenge
Ashtead Technology wanted to develop a front end customer portal which interacts seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 providing their customers with an intuitive gateway for fleet review, quotation and ordering, transparency of order process and enhanced KPI reporting.
The solution aimed to provide Ashtead Technology with the competitive advantage over their peers by demonstrating commitment to innovation and making best use of web technologies to streamline processes and to provide their customers with a transparent and cohesive experience when engaging with them. In turn enhancing existing customer / supplier relationships resulting in longer term engagements due to its “value add” nature, and emerge as a unique tool resulting in an advantage over Ashtead Technologies’ competitors regarding potential new business.
The Core 29 Solution
Core29 managed and implemented a customer web portal – Aperto. The project was split into three phases. The initial release phase encompassed priority requirements, which was followed by an optimisation phase that encompassed functional streamlining requirements.
Aperto is a gateway for customers to view the fixed asset and consumables fleet, linking directly to the ERP system where the information resides. It’s intuitive, allowing for a store front experience where the rental inventory can be searched and items be suggested to further advertise the highly specialised and diverse nature of the fleet.
